Ways to send us wedding gifts

Hello everyone,

We decided not to do a traditional wedding registry and go with the a few simplified options.

Option #1
You can send us gift card from either Home Depot, Lowes or Best Buy stores via postal mail or email. If you do not have our home information please email us willyoumarrysyd@gmail.com

Option #2
If you would like to send us money you can do so via paypal using the donate button below or mailing us a check or money order to our home address. If you don't have our home information please email us at willyoumarrysyd@gmail.com

Option #3
If you would like to help plan and or contribute the reception/dinner party upon our return from our honeymoon, please contact us at willyoumarrysyd@gmail.com

I will be sending out information about how to make sure that you get an invite to our reception/dinner party as well as the private send off we will have before we leave.

Thank you,
Syd

Talked to a travel agent about Hawaii

So I went ahead and walked into the travel agent today before coming up to work (lucky for me the agency is on the first floor of my office building). After walking into the agency I just asked about when should we start planning and luckily I'm just in-time for planning a trip like this. The agent stated that you want to start about 11 months or 300 days before you want to set this up. After letting the agent know that we want to have our wedding and honeymoon. He said he will start looking at packages and we will discuss options toward the end of September. I'm hoping the prices doesn't blow the bank, because I know Gail would love to have our honeymoon there so I'm going to make it happen.

1 year Countdown to our wedding

Gail and I have set our wedding date to 08/09/10. We are thinking of ideas to for our wedding but we are not 100% sure what we would like to do. For the most part we are certain that we are going to go somewhere and elope, then be on our honeymoon. Here are the two ideas that we are narrowing our options to:

1) Flying to Hawaii and having a beach wedding and spending the rest of the week enjoying the tropical setting.

2) Driving to the Caesars Poconos resort in North East Pennsylvania, having a garden setting wedding, and getting the Champagne Tower suite for the honeymoon.

As far as the Hawaiian wedding and honeymoon goes, we are not certain how much we need for travel and lodging for a week. My guess is that we need to save about $2500 on the travel and honeymoon and $1500 for the wedding if we choose the 1st option. The second option will probably cost us about $1500 for the wedding and $2000 on travel and lodging. The upside to doing the first option is that it's Hawaii, enough said. Now the traveling expenses for Hawaii is not including if we want to do something other than hang out at the resort or stay put in the area of the resort. If we have to rent a car to do some sight seeing, the price could be another $500 more. Now the Poconos the car rental expense is already figured into the traveling expenses, plus we can stop in Pittsburgh and Cleveland and see those areas on our way to and from the destination.

So I'm wondering, what should we do.
